Now a days, to apply one has to fill the Form Online, UGC NET website : http://www.ugcnetonline.in/.

On the web page itself one can read many important information. As now pattern and ranking scale is changing very fast so one has to be very determined to study in smart manner. 

There are three parts of this exam, part 1 and part 2 are in same session and part 3 in another. This is rule as per UGC that a person has to pass part1 and then his part2 will be checked and so the case for part3, so in nut shell, each part is very important. Regarding Papers :

PART 1.

-Give 7-8 days (2-3 hr a day), you will get good marks.

-Computer Awareness Questions are easy.

-Teaching Aptitude questions required knowlegde but it depends on liking the concepts. So read this section for gaining marks.

GUIDES :

-There are many books in market for this paper, I recommend Upkar's paper 1st book. UGC/NET/JRF/SLET Teaching & Research Aptitude : General Paper-I (Paperback) by Dr. Lal Jain, Dr. K. C. Vashistha Publisher: Upkar (2010);

-another book you can use as question bank is Ugc Net Paper 1 50 Practice Test Paper Solved (Paperback) by Gupta Publisher: Ramesh Publishing House-delhi (Rph Editorial Board) http://www.flipkart.com/books/8178123312

Also there is no negative marking in this paper. There are 60 ques in paper and one has to attempt just 50, First 50 will be checked by computer.

PAPER PART 2.

-This is subject based Objective type paper.

-I found that First Year MBA syllabus is there in paper.

-Again there is no negative marking.

-for this paper one has to be good in basics, just basics. So notes of MBA will work. One can use SikkimManipal or IGNOU notes for this paper. these notes are there on the respective websites for free. These notes will help in Paper 3 also.

-Cram names of Persons with their theories.

-basic definitions and their inter-relations are now in trend. As questions are not direct. See the recent question paper.

Guides :

-One can purchase Management Notes for IAS or NET coaching. I have some words that notes are in Mukhrejee Nagar (Delhi) market as well as near Old JNU campus markets.

-Also one can purchase guide also. Ugc Net/set : Management (Paperback) by M. Shivani Publisher: Danika/ Trueman Publishing Company (2010) http://www.flipkart.com/books/8189301160. and now new edition is also in market. 

Paper PART 3.

-A good grasp on subject or portion of subject is required.

- Prepare your own notes from books, if you have time.

-If you don't have time, then learn and write and then cross check from notes.

-Above guide and references will works here for sure.

-As this paper also have a new pattern, now it is easy to get net certification.

-In part 3 some section is specialization based. so well prepare one section.
